Welcome to our new offices!:


Having moved to new premises in the spring of 2005 in Abbott Road, Charminster, we are pleased to confirm that the complete refurbishment scheme has now finally finished and all our staff work happily (hopefully!) in our purpose designed air-conditioned offices which boast all the facilities we wanted including specialist computer rooms, print rooms and Conference rooms so that we can sit with clients and confidentially discuss their requirements.

A big thank you to all our staff who worked through the noise and dust (and at one time without a roof!) while all the work was done.

Since our last web page update we have continued to design many exciting local residential projects providing much needed rejuvenation to some sites and some stunning replacement buildings, especially around the coastal areas.

Historically, we grew from a one man business established in Bournemouth in 1978 providing a service for homeowners and builders in the private sector for house extensions and alterations, Harriplan Ltd has now grown into probably the areas most popular Planning business submitting more applications to the local Authority than any other local firm. Projects are also undertaken in Poole, Christchurch, East Dorset and the Purbecks dependent on clients requirements and purchases.
  In 2005 the main part of our business is designing new developments of Flats and Houses for our Developer client base. Our service is extremely confidential and is used by many local and sometimes National developers.

Several nominations for Local Design awards have been received culminating in the Conversion Civic Design Award in 1988, A Highly commended (2nd Place) for an unusual and original design for a block of flats in the 2000 Civic Design Awards for which there were some 200 nominations. The awards are decided every three years and we are very proud to now confirm that in the 2003 Civic Design Awards we were awarded 1st Place for the Design of a new building within a Conservation Area. Bearing in mind that there were some 160 nominations in total for awards for building completed within the three years we feel that this is a fine achievement and would like to thank our clients for their original instructions and hope that there will be more awards to come in the future!

Technology and Building Regulations move on and become more complicated every year and with this in mind we at Harriplan do our best to stay updated with regular in house training to ensure that we can keep our clients up to date with new requirements. However, whilst we understand the pressures of new technology (and now have our own specialist computer department! ) we also pride ourselves on producing fine traditional pen and ink drawings that bring out the character in our designs and assist in obtaining Planning Consents.

Our expertise also lies in providing Conversion schemes for developments within existing buildings and we are expert in obtaining that 'additional unit' within a scheme that can make our clients additional profits.
